The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie two Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services into the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering expert services such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency mentioned it's alarmed regarding the superior quantity of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The aim in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the higher quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is often because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no absolutely functional status sassa office devoted to service the area regularly. The assistance position designed for intervention encounters a higher inflow of probable beneficiaries, which makes it tough for the Workplace to attend to all people who check out a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more resources to help the servicing of all shoppers and boost access to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
For SRD more information, community members can call toll free during working days/hours on 0800 60 10 11 and WhatsApp on 082 046 8553. - SAnews.gov.za
